Sexton Cabin Hike - Cancelled Due to Weather
About this event
The hike begins at the Confederate Breastworks on top of the Shenandoah Mountain along Rt 250 west of Churchville.
The trail heads north on the Shenandoah Mountain Trial for about 2.5 miles and then we will take Jerry's Run Trail for about .5 miles to the remains of the Sexton Cabin.
Distance: About 6 miles total.
Difficulty: Moderate.
This is a beautiful well-maintained ridge trail with few rocks or roots.
Time: Estimated 4 hours from car door to car door and another 2 hours ( 1 hr each way) of driving time.
Bring: Water, snacks, lunch, hiking poles, sun protection.
We will arrange car-pooling in the parking lot.
