Sara Morton, Elderly Services Attorney, Blue Ridge Legal Services
This presentation covers a general overview of wills, advance medical directives, power of attorney, and funeral & burial designations. Other forms of planning are also briefly discussed, because with thoughtful planning many folks find that they can manage their own finances and personal affairs well into their senior years. Thus I discuss other forms of planning in recognition of the fact that most people need a POA as a backup plan, not as the intended way to manage one’s affairs early on.
