Every 65 seconds someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's. People with dementia aren’t all clustered in nursing homes being cared for by specialists. In fact, most of them live within the same community the rest of us do.

Valley Village believes that by educating ourselves, we can make it easier for those suffering with dementia, their caregivers, and all the people with whom they interact. We currently have almost 30% of our membership trained. If we can get to 50%, we can call Valley Village a Dementia-Friendly organization, according to Valley Program on Aging Services.
