Hike-Hightop Overlook and Summit (SNP)

Distance: 4.2 mile in/out hike Difficulty: Moderate, Trail is hard pack relatively smooth Hiking Time: +/- 3 hours Elevation Gain: 971 feet, trail has no steep climbs Trailhead: Smith Roach Gap Parking Lot IWD: March 14

9:00-9:45 AM travel to Smith Roach Gap Parking Lot. 
10:00 hike the AT north to the Hightop Overlook (arrive at 11:00 approx) 
From the overlook we will walk to the summit (foundation of fire tower) and hike to the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club Hut for lunch (approx 11:45). Outhouse available at the hut. Leave the hut at 12:15, back to parking lot at 1:00 and back to PVMC parking Lot at 2:00/2:30
